Hello Friends,

I am so excited to announce that we have officially started our Fall 2024 fundraiser! Since Delta Beta Tau has become a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we are moving towards acquiring our own space on or near campus. Our goal for this space is to create a central meeting place for many of our activities at DBT.

To maintain our commitment to providing a welcoming environment for exploring and discussing Buddhist teachings, we’re reaching out to our alumni, friends, and family for support. If DBT has been a benefit to you, we invite you to contribute to help ensure the organization continues to inspire and uplift others now and for years to come.

Founded in 2015 at San Diego State University, DBT is a unique service organization rooted in the values of generosity, morality, patience, diligence, meditation, and wisdom. We welcome students from all backgrounds who wish to incorporate Buddhist practices into their daily lives, without becoming Buddhist. Our mission is to share the principles of wisdom, compassion, and meditation through community service, retreats, guest speakers, and discussions.

We host meditation sessions and discussions twice a week, centered around Buddhist teachings. Our Wednesday meditation sessions are open to everyone and consistently draw around 45 participants. Additionally, we offer community service opportunities and retreats to introduce students to diverse meditation techniques and visits to Buddhist temples.

We provide multiple community service projects for the students to give back to their community, in addition to taking students on retreats to introduce them to various meditation practices and Buddhist Temples.

Since our founding as the nation’s first co-ed Buddhist fraternity, we’ve initiated 448 members and fostered a strong network of alumni who continue to practice the teachings shared through DBT.

While all our activities are free for participants, we still face expenses. This semester, we aim to raise $2,900 to support our operating costs and move forward with securing a dedicated space. Your generosity will help us continue to grow and serve the community.
